I love metal. And not the heavy, musical kind, but the glossy, industrial, luxe, shiny (I could go on) kind. If I could, I think I’d live in a metal house – although I think it’d be very hot in the summer and I’d probably get bored of it before the first sign of rust. Anyway, whether you go full-on industrial or just add a hint to your interior look, the best thing about metal is that it’s such an easy trend to incorporate into your decor. Why? Because you can find pretty much anything you fancy in metal, and what you can’t find can be fixed with an £8 can of metallic spray paint.
Metal doesn’t mean ‘cold’ – go for a warm shade like brass or rose gold
Go for gold and give your table setting a modern look with this cutlery set
Balance bold metals with neutral colours and pastels
Get the industrial look with exposed light fixtures and bare bulbs
Avoid the generic Ikea storage boxes and try something
a little more eye-catching (and longer lasting too)
I couldn’t finish without a big brass bathtub, sigh, one day
